We have some exciting news to unveil that we’ve been successfully keeping under wraps for some time now – the Schoolbox Online Teacher Course has been endorsed by the NSW Education Standards Authority (NESA)!
As an ex-NSW teacher, our Online Learning and Education Consultant, Aimee Pearce, knew how important this endorsement was and worked tirelessly to get our Online Teacher Course approved as a registered professional development course with NESA.
What this means
Our Teacher Course has been mapped to the Australian Professional Teacher Standards, and this has now been recognised by NESA.
To maintain accreditation, all NSW teachers are required to complete a number of hours of professional development.
Completing the Schoolbox Online Teacher Course will contribute 10 hours of NESA registered professional development, addressing 2.2.2, 2.6.2, 3.4.2, 3.6.2, 6.3.2 and 7.4.2 from the Australian Professional Teacher Standards towards maintaining Proficient Teacher Accreditation in NSW.
Why this matters
If you’re a NSW teacher, now, every time you complete a level of the Schoolbox Online Teacher Course, you’re adding to your professional development!
Adding to your professional development means that you can continuously improve your teaching practice and develop your career, and we think that’s pretty awesome!
How to activate it
In order for us to register your hours for your professional development with NESA for our Online Teacher Course, your Schoolbox Help account will need to store your professional development identification number.
Steps on how you can do this can be found on our dedicated Schoolbox Help page.
We look forward to seeing your progress in our Online Teacher Course!
